Time Flies When You Are Having FUN - 6 Months

So I cannot believe that our little Hunter James is six months old (that's half a year) haha :) Some days I sit and wonder where the time has gone. Although it seems like I just had him yesterday, at the same time it seems like I can't remember our life without him. He has just brought so much joy and light to our lives. I miss him so much during the day but our evenings are just filled with love and laughter, and life cannot get better than that.

We had been taking Hunter's picture every month in comparison to a super sized Sock Monkey doll we have to show just how big he grows every month. I thought since we are at the half way mark I would show the last 6 months next to each other so you could really see how big he has gotten:

Hunter has been sitting up alot better on his own. He can sit for quite awhile but still gets toppled over when he loses his balance. He loves story time with Daddy. He also loves eating. He loves his cereal and veggies that he gets on a daily basis but he also likes all the new things we give him to try. He especially likes when we are eating dinner and we give him a little butter bread. We just pull off little pieces at a time and he just gobbles them up. He is growing so much as well. I cannot wait to go to his doctor appointment on the 20th to see just how big he has gotten.

He is just a joy to have around and cant imagine my life with out him!!

Hunter Likes:
  • Story Time with Daddy (Scott does funny voices and all, so CUTE)
  • His new Jumperoo at home and at Nana's
  • Bread and Butter
  • Pulling Mommy's (or anyone for that matter) hair and pulling Mommy's earrings - I feel so bad because he is constantly pulling peoples hair. The other day at church he pulled another little girls. I think we are going to have a hand full on our hands.
Hunter Does Not Like:
  • Bumping his head on anything (his head is very sensitive, he barely bumps it on something and the boy just crumbles - Breaks my heart)
  •  Getting woken up in the middle of the night. Usually once a night he wakes up and I have to go in there and rock him back to sleep or put him in our bed (I know not a good thing to get started but I love him snuggling next to me for now). He is only up for 5 minutes but I'm sure he doesn't like it.

He's getting SO BIG!! He needs to stay small, haha :)

Jumperoo

Hello. It has been a crazy week. I have been wanting to write everyday but life just keeps getting in the way. By the time I am able to sit down and write on here, I am too tired from the day to do it and just go to bed. Well luckily tomorrow I am taking the day off (having a little Mommy/Hunter day) so I can stay up later than usual.

Well last week we bought Hunter his first Jumperoo. We had been wanting to get him something that he could play in that was for babies that he could sit up in. I think sometimes he was getting tired of always playing on the floor. So we started looking at Target and Babies R Us and unfortunately what we were looking for was not cheap. The one we really liked was 89.99 at Target. So off to Craigslist I went. I had never bought anything off Craigslist before but I had heard so many success stories from everyone else that I thought I would give it a try, and SUCCESS!! I found someone that lived in Fullerton that was selling something very similar to what we were looking for, for 45 dollars. Luckily I was able to talk them down to 35 dollars, which is awesome, because when I found our Jumperoo online it was going for 95 dollars. It is made by Fisher Price and is practically brand new. It didn't even look like it had been used. It was such a great find and Hunter loves it!! He is the jumping king :) He still doesn't know how to turn the chair all the way around but he has plenty of time to learn. It is so fun to watch him in the Jumper. He just smiles and bounces away. Its been a big help as well, when we get home and I have to make dinner. I am just so happy we have found something he likes so much!!

Halloween Festivities

So Holiday season begins. It has been so much fun having Hunter around this Halloween. Its so fun to do things we do every year, but how they feel so different now that we have Hunter. We did alot of new things too. The best thing was seeing Hunter in his costume. He was the cutest raccoon I have ever seen. My favorite part, the stuffed belly. He just look so chubby and cuddly. Here are just a few things we did this Halloween season:

Pumpkin Patch:

We went to lunch and the pumpkin patch with our friends Leslie, Jeremy and Eli. Eli is only 7 months older than Hunter. I know in the future, they will be great friends just like Leslie and I :) Although it was really hot and we really couldn't do much (there's only so much you can do with a six month old) it was fun to hang out with good friends and make new memories

Trunk or Treat:
Every year through our church they have a ward Halloween Party and do Trunk or Treat (its basically trick or treating but instead of houses you go trunk to trunk :). Its super fun and the kids really love it. I took Hunter to our wards and then we all went to my parents ward. It was really great and had yummy food, like soft serve ice cream, slush puppies, nachos, popcorn and more!! Hunter liked wearing his costume and holding his pumpkin while going car to car. It was the cutest thing.

Nana and her lil raccoon

My Dad never cooks but this is the 3rd straight year he won 1st place in the Chili Cookoff. He was so proud :)

Halloween Themed Family Night:

Almost every Sunday, my family gets together for Sunday Funday. We have dinner and just hang out. It also gives Scott and I a chance to do our laundry for FREE. On this particular Funday, Kelly went and bought us all pumpkins to carve. Its so nice spending time with family and makes me so thankful that we will be together forever.

Looking cute while we carve

He did not like the pumpkin guts, haha

Close up of his face while he holds pumpkin guts in his hands, it was too funny :)

Halloween:

This year Hunter and I went to my cousin Melissa's house for a kids Halloween Party and Trick or Treating. She has had this party many times in the past and I never went because I didn't have a child. I finally went and it was so much fun. Although Hunter didn't get to participate in the activities because he was either too little or asleep, we had a blast. Unfortunately due to Scott's schedule he was unable to attend but there is always next year. Since Scott was unable to go, my mom came to help and to see Hunter. They had Halloween Bingo, a Ghost Pinata and yummy food. We then all went trick or treating. We only went to about 10-15 houses before turning around while the big kids went on, but we at least experienced it all (plus it gave us an excuse to put him in his raccoon costume one more time, haha). It was so much fun and cannot wait until next year, when Hunter might be able to do a little more!!
