The Simple Things in Life...

So I have so much to catch up on in this blog put I have this overwhelming thought about how much I have come to enjoy the more simple things in life. I don't know if I am just always so busy that I only have time to enjoy the simple things or if having Hunter has just opened my eyes to the simple things. He loves the smallest things and things that are so simple make him so happy. Tonight at Target Scott always goes and gets a roll of paper towels and throws it up in the air and catches it right in front of Hunter. Hunter has seen him do this a million times and every time he just beams with happiness and gets so excited. It always puts a smile on my face to see Hunter so happy. Another thing I have come to enjoy is our small family time together. Sure it is fun to go places and try new things with Hunter but the times that make me the happiest is when we are all on Scott's and my bed playing together or making Hunter laugh. We just snuggle all together and I don't think I can be any happier than when we are together like that.

Now believe me I still have my off days and days when I just want to pull my hair (and believe me those days are often, haha), but I just look at the sweet innocence of Hunter's face and I remember what is important. So my goal is to try and remember the things that are truly important and make more time for the simple things :)

Hunter Update - 9 months and counting...

So I am slowly but surely catching myself up on here. It is so much harder now to keep up. As soon as I think I am caught up with what is going on with us, we come across 15 new things I want to write about. One milestone we have come across this month is Hunter turning 9 months old. I still cannot believe how time has flown by and in a mere 3 months he will be 1 year old. It is amazing the blessing he has brought with his presence and the happiness he has filled us with. I can only imagine how much more happiness and love will continue to trickle into our lives as the years go on. Pretty soon I am going to be planning his birthday party and I cannot wait. I am a super planner so it is something I love to do anyways but now that it is for my son, it makes it even the more exciting :) I just have to get through my sisters bridal shower first.

Some of the new things he has accomplished, is we officially have a crawler on our hands. He had been crawling backwards and getting around easily but it took him a good month to get going forward under his belt. Now that he is on the move, I have to be extra careful with everything and have my eye on him constantly. The other day I longed for the newborn age when all he did was lay on his back and coo. Although he is getting to be so much fun. We can play more and he understands us a lot better, although I wish I could understand what all his sounds mean :)

Milestones He Accomplished
  • He is officially a crawler, yay!!
  • Eating more fruits and vegetables...Also eating more table food...He absolutely loves it...Although I still think he loves his bottle more, its soooo cute :)
  • Can drink from a sippy cup...He really loves flavored water!!
  • Went to the doctor and he was 18 lbs 7 ozs. and 28 1/2 inches long. Our little guy is getting so big (Funny story...When we went in for his 9 month checkup and the scale read 16.07 lbs. We knew he had to be bigger than that but thats what the scale said, so we just thought he was solid. Turns out the scale was broken. When I took him back about a month later because he was sick, the scale read 20 lbs. We knew then the scale had been wrong or he just gained 4 lbs in a month, haha)
