Hunter Update - 16 weeks

Hello Everyone!! Its been awhile since my last post. I have been so busy with working and taking care of Hunter. I work all day then, pick up Hunter from my mom and then my whole evening is spent either spending time with him and Scott or doing chores (the never-ending bottle cleaning). We have been doing great since returning to work. I still do not find it easier to leave him in the morning and I still want to be home every second I am at work, but I just have to keep telling myself this is to provide for a better life for us, and that seems to make it a little easier. It does make it easier knowing he is with my mom and she just loves him soooo much. I am also able to call or text her a dozen times and she doesn't think I am crazy (ok maybe she does think I am crazy) but she would never not take my call, haha :) Hopefully someday in the near future, I will either get to work part-time or we can find ourselves in a situation where I won't have to work but until that day I will do whatever it takes to provide my family with a wonderful life.

Hunter is thriving. He is also becoming quite the little mover (it makes me nervous for what is to come). He continues to roll onto his belly, and now every so often he will roll from his belly to his back. The only problem with him rolling is he hates being on his belly, so he just whines until you put him on his back, but then 2 seconds later he is right back on his belly. He is a silly boy. Also, he is now doing this scooting thing and he almost can get out of his bassinet and swing. We were giving him a bath the other night and he scootch himself into an almost laying position in the tub. We definitely need to keep our eye on him at all times now.

We have been talking about putting him in his crib for about 3 weeks now and have kept putting it off due to our nervousness. It has been so great to have that fold out bed in our room so he slept right next to us (Thanks Saede!!). But he is almost 4 months old and is getting a little squished in that bed now so I think it is time. I am going to bust out the monitor and hope for the best. It is just sad for me because he is growing so fast and is hitting all these milestones so quickly. I am just trying to cherish every moment I can because I know it will not be like this forever.

Scott and I are doing great. Just enjoying all the new things in our life. We have come to love family time (not that we didn't before) but its just so different now. Last weekend we just stayed at home and had dinner and movie night with the baby. So simple, but so exciting and fun at the same time.We are constantly trying to think of things we can do with the baby. We are not about going out by ourselves without him (although once in awhile is fine and necessary). We want to include him in all aspects of our life. The highlight of both our days is coming home and playing with Hunter. I guess we have come to love the simple things in life. I loved Scott before but my love for him has grown tremendously since having Hunter. He is such an awesome dad and wants to be hands on as much as he can. I only hope he feels the same way about me, haha :)

Hunter Likes:

- Watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse (either youtube video or cartoon)
-Playing on the IPAD with Daddy (he has a couple of apps that he can play with, with Scott's help)
-Spending his days with Nana (every time I go to pick him up, he is just so happy, so I know he loves being there)

Hunter Does Not Like:

-Rolling on his tummy and not being able to get back on his back.
- Not being held...He loves to be held, and wants attention all the time (I wonder who he gets that from)

Family Update - 3 months

So it has been a busy couple of weeks. Hunter and I were trying to jam pack all our activities in last week since I returned to work this week. It has been an emotional roller coaster preparing to go back to work but I did it and if I do say so myself, I think I did it pretty successfully. We are so fortunate that my mom has the flexibility in her schedule to take care of Hunter. It is a true blessing and has made this transition in our lives so much easier. Scott is becoming much more of a hands on dad now too (not that he didn't help before), but he is taking care of him in the mornings and taking him to my mom on his way to work.

On Monday August 6th, 2012, Hunter was officially 3 months old. I cannot believe how the time has flown by. He is growing more and more everyday. I try to cherish everyday because I know this time will be gone in a blink of an eye. He is so much more interactive now and is constantly cooing at us. He loves his toys, especially his monkey and elephant blankets. Its so cute he holds onto them and doesn't want to let them go. I'm not surprised he loves blankets, I have had a blanket that I have slept with pretty much my whole life. When I was a little girl, I had a yellow ducky blanket that I had until I was 8 and then I had to throw him away because he was so ratted and torn. I still remember exactly what that blanket looked like too. Then when I was 13 I got a comforter for my bed at the time and I still have it to this day. Scott always says he is going to throw it away but he can't. I don't know what it is but it just relaxes me and I don't know what I would do without it.

Hunter also had another big milestone this week, he rolled over for the first time. We are such proud parents. He can get all the way over but has trouble getting his hand out from under him. So give him a little more time and he will probably be rolling everywhere :) He already can scoot and move himself all over his floor mat that he plays on. Its just such a miracle to see how much they change and grow day by day. Can't wait to see what the future holds for our little guy.

Hunter Likes:
  • Ellie the Elephant and Monkey Blanket
  • Sucking on his hands (He can't keep them out of his mouth)
  • Rolling Over
Hunter Does Not Like:
  • Getting stuck on his belly after rolling over (hopefully he will learn to roll from his belly to his back soon)
  • That Mama had to go back to work (ok maybe that more me, haha)
  • Taking long naps (he is definitely a cat napper now)
Scott and I are doing great. Just enjoying our new life. Last Saturday we were able to go to dinner and have a date night. We decided to go to Souplantation (Scott's Favorite) and were going to go to the movies. When we looked at the movie selections we didn't see anything we liked so we decided to go and buy an IPAD!! A little extravagant, I know, but we deserve it, haha :) We keep telling ourselves we bought it for the baby so he can play on it when he gets a little older but really it was for us, lol. We had been thinking about getting one for a long time and just decided lets do it. We have the money, we might as well do it now, before we don't have enough money. It actually is a really cool gadget and we have been having lots of fun playing with it.

We have so much going on and can't wait to share it with all of you. Here are some recent pics I have taken...Enjoy.

Scott cannot deny this child ever, haha :)

Made It!!

So I made it through my first week back to work. Although hard and missing Hunter like crazy, it was nice to get back. The first couple of days were hard, just trying to get back in the swing of things and feeling like part of the office and not just Hunter's mom, haha :), but by Friday I felt like I had never left.

My manager is so nice and offered me the chance to take a couple of days off the first few weeks so I could get used to the transition. So I took Wednesday off so Hunter and I could have some Mama/Baby bonding time. We slept in, played around on his playmat, went to Target and had a photoshoot. There are some pics below. I cannot believe how much he has grown the last couple of months. He truly is a little blessing :)

PS: I know I take way too many pictures of Hunter but I just can't stop myself...Have you seen that face :)

Working Mom

So I am officially a working mom.  I am writing this blog while I am on my lunch at work. I am actually killing some time before I have to pump so Hunter will have lunch for tomorrow, haha :) Although this morning was more hectic than most, it wasn't that bad. I was emotionally not all together but had everything pretty organized so that part went smoothly. I had been dreading today for the last week and it went exactly how I thought it would. I cried when I said goodbye and continued to cry the whole way to work, but at least I made it :) And of course Hunter didn't make it easy on me. As I am saying goodbye he was just smiling at me and holding my hand like he didn't want to let go (now I know he didn't really know what was going on but it seemed like it in my mind). I only have a couple of hours left and I am counting down the minutes but I will be ok.The first thing I do when I get to my moms is pick up my baby and give him the biggest kiss ever, haha. I am sure I will cry again tomorrow but I know that this is to make for a better life for Hunter and thats what is truely important to me. I would do absolutely anything for him and to give him a great life. I just love that little boy so much <3

Also, I have to give a huge thank you to my wonderful husband. He did such a good with Hunter this morning helping out and getting him ready and taking him to my mom. There is nothing better than seeing your husband be a great dad :) I am so thankful for his love and support and hopefully one day he will be making the big bucks and I can stay home with all our little ones...I'll be living the dream!!
